Generous Josh has his head shaved for charity

A selfless student from Rutland has braved the shave to have his first haircut in just over 18 months.

Josh Bland, who lives in Market Overton, had his long hair he last had cut in the summer of 2017 all shaved off on New Year’s Eve.

As it stands, he has currently raised £245 that will be split between Cancer Research, the Alziemer’s Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The 16-year-old, who is currently studying for his A-levels at New College Stamford, said: “I just wanted to do something for other people.

“My hair is quite a drastic change from what it was before.

“Everyone had a bit of a snip and a shave so everyone had a bit of fun.

“ The last time I had it cut would have been the summer of 2017.

“I thought that this could be a little traditional at the end of the year where I raise money for charity."
