Two young girls have shown fantastic initiative by setting up their own Christmas bazaar in aid of charity.
Thurlby Primary School Year 3 pupils Lara Austin and Sophia Bull will hold a Christmas bazaar at Thurlby Pre-School on Sunday, December 22 from 3pm to 5pm.
Lara, of Station Road, Thurlby, and Sophia, of Bedehouse Bank, Bourne, are promising fun and games at the event which will include a tombola, stalls, crafts, yuletide games, a colouring table, Christmas music and seasonal snacks.
All proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.
The girls have designed and made their own posters and flyers which they are distributing, at the same time as collecting lots of goodies for the day. Family and friends are all involved and will help out at the event.
Lara’s mum Sarah runs the pre-school where the bazaar will take place. The building is behind 78 Northorpe, PE10 OHJ.
Sophia’s mum Catherine said: “We are really proud of them for being so proactive about it and for following it through, to be thinking of what they can give to others at this time of year.”
Lara said the girls had chosen Cancer Research UK “because they help poorly people”.
Sophie said: “There will be lots of fun things for people who come along and we are hoping to raise lots of money - hopefully more than £5!”
