Fitness fans took part in sponsored spinathon and classathon events to raise cash for a good cause in memory of a well-known Bourne resident who died aged 30.

Ashley Woolf, who was manager of Smith’s of Bourne, sadly passed away in September last year following a short illness. Friends were determined to raise some money for the oncology unit at Peterborough City Hospital and decided to organise a weekend of events at The Universal Fitness Centre, in Cherry Holt Road, Bourne.

Participants paid to take part in 260-minutes of back-to-back spinning classes and 260-minutes of tabata; kettlebell; legs, bums and tums; fitsteps and aerobics.

The total raised at the gym is still being counted.
