The owner of a country house hotel was thrilled after it was listed among the best eateries in the country for the 32nd consecutive year.
Hambleton Hall has been published in the latest edition of the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2014 and owner Tim Hart was delighted at the recognition.
The hotel came in at number 30 in the guide’s list of the top 50 restaurants in the country, which is set to be released on Monday next week.
The venue has featured in the guide in 32 of its 33 years of business since Mr Hart opened its doors in 1980.
He said: “We are delighted with the news.
“It’s all down to the hard work and enthusiasm of the staff that we are continually recognised as one of the handful of outstanding restaurants in the country outside of London.”
The hotel’s restaurant serves a range of seasonal traditional food, with locally sourced ingredients.
Head chef Aaron Patterson has been working in the kitchen for 20 years and Mr Hart expressed his gratitude for his dedication and hard work.
Mr Hart said: “Aaron does a wonderful job in the kitchen. He has such enthusiasm I thank him for his huge efforts.
“We also believe its important to be very welcoming but at the same time professional. “
The Waitrose Good Food Guide 2014 is based features independent reviews of the best dining establishments throughout the UK, from pubs and cafes to restaurants and fine dining.
Top of the list of the 50 best restaurants was L’Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria.
