Hambleton Road in Egleton at the junction with the A6003 reopens after flooding but other roads affected

Rutland County Council has reopened Hambleton Road, Egleton, at the junction with the A6003 following flooding earlier (Thursday, November 7) - but others in Rutland are affected

Water was coming off the fields and the ditches’ capacity was affected by a broken culvert.The quantity of water caused the river to burst its banks.

It is now passable with caution.

Main Street and Cow Lane in Whissendine remain closed. Earlier a driver had to be rescued.

Tixover has standing water on the road.

Flooding advice is available on the Rutland County Council website.

Rutland County Council’s highways team will continue to monitor roads and water levels throughout the night.

Where roads are severely affected, Rutland County Council will close the roads and information will be provided through its social media accounts.
