Bumper harvest at Bourne Westfield supports Bourne Foodbank

Bourne Westfield celebrated a fabulous Harvest Festival last Thursday with the help of Marcelle Cowley from Bourne Foodbank.

Children in Key Stage 1 and 2 learnt that not everyone in our local community is as fortunate as others and how Bourne Foodbank supports many families and individuals in times of need.

Donations for this very worthy cause were plentiful, showing the generosity of all the families.

The children stared in amazement at the huge display laid out at the front of the hall.

Year 6 children helped to deliver all the produce to Bourne Foodbank on Tuesday afternoon where Marcelle explained exactly how it operates.

Head of school Kate Atkinson said: “We would like to thank Marcelle and all the volunteers at the Foodbank for giving our children the opportunity to contribute to their community in a positive way.

"If you are interested in helping at Bourne Foodbank or wish to contribute food items, please e-mail volunteers@bournefoodbank.org.uk”
