Colourful stone snake in Uffington was started by Cecily Genever-Jones

A strange and colourful creature has been spotted in a village near Stamford - and it seems to be getting bigger by the day.

The stone snake was started in Main Road, Uffington by eight-year-old resident Cecily Genever-Jones after her mum, Susan, suggested it as a lockdown project.

Cecily, who is home-schooling while Copthill School remains closed to Year 4s, said: "I decided to do it because during lockdown people don't really have much to do and art is quite fun. I have an auntie who can help me because she's an artist.
