People have the chance to help guide development in their area over the next 20 years.

South Kesteven District Council has launched a consultation into its new local plan. The feedback will help inform the document, which will set out a vision for the district and include the policies and proposals that will be used to develop the area.

According to the council, this means building the right number and types of houses, shopping and recreation facilities; getting the right office and industrial spaces; creating jobs; and protecting wildlife, landscape and heritage.

Portfolio holder for planning Frances Cartwright (Con) said: “This is the public’s first opportunity under the new guidance, to have their say on how they want the place where they live to develop in the future. We want to work with local people to ensure that the plan reflects their views.”

People can have their say at http://southkesteven-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal/planning/plan/localplan or at council offices in Bourne Corn Exchange before March 6.
