The cancer unit at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Trust has come out favourably on a new website.
Results from the National Cancer Peer Review, which looks at the quality of cancer services, are illustrated on the website www.mycancertreatment.nhs.uk, where patients can see information about the cancer services provided in the area and compare the results against other hospitals.
Results for the cancer unit at Peterborough City Hospital showed that 96 per cent of patients were treated within two weeks and patients gave favourable feedback, especially for confidence and trust in doctors, and post discharge contact information provided to them.
Information on the website includes any identified concerns, waiting times, national benchmark position, national cancer patient experience survey results and if the service has a complete team.
Lead nurse for cancer and palliative care Lyndsay Carter said: “We are proud of what we can offer patients and we feel we have an excellent team with great facilities and equipment.”
