Don’t jump in the river warning

POLICE are reminding people of the dangers of jumping off bridges into water.

Stamford PCSO David Vines spoke to a group of teenagers who were jumping from the Albert Bridge in Albert Road, Stamford on Wednesday afternoon.

PCSO Vines said: “There is a risk of life-threatening injuries. You don’t know how deep the water is and you don’t know what diseases are in the water.

“It’s the school holidays and we want people to have fun but stay safe. We don’t want to be dragging anyone out of the water with broken limbs or worse.”
