AMBULANCE crews have received recognition for the work they do.

East Midlands Ambulance Service frontline crews are being awarded with the Queen’s diamond jubilee medal if they have completed a minimum of six years service attending 999 emergencies.

Chief executive of the ambulance service Phil Milligan said: “It is wonderful that our people are receiving Royal recognition for what they do so well.

“I know that they will each receive and wear their medal with pride, and rightly so.”

Mr Milligan said the service was planning to hold events this summer for its volunteers, including those from Lives, to thank them.
