A survey has revealed there are thousands more people exercising regularly every week in South Kesteven and Rutland than in 2005.
The figures from Sport England’s annual Active People Survey has highlighted 4.4 per cent more people taking on and keeping a sporting habit for life in South Kesteven, compared with base line figures from eight years ago.
Rutland has also seen a boost in people taking part in sport with a 4 per cent increased
The increased figures on those over 16s exercising for half an hour are in the two districts felt to be partly inspired by the London 2012 Olympics.
However there had been little change in Peterborough City Council and East Northamptonshire.
