Helicopter helps police track down and arrest assault suspect

A police helicopter was called in to help track down a suspect wanted in connection with an assault on a woman.

Lincolnshire police said a man was arrested in Bourne at about 2.30pm, following the assault in Grantham this morning (Tuesday, May 17).

Witnesses said there was a large police presence in Bourne this afternoon as the operation developed.

A helicopter from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) took part in the search.

As well as the suspect detained in Bourne, two other people have been arrested for obstructing police and concealing an offender in connection with the same incident.
