Nest Estates in Stamford calls for present donations for children in the Amazon ward at Peterborough City Hospital on Christmas Day

Children spending Christmas in hospital this year will receive an extra present thanks to the team at Nest Estates in Stamford.

For the past two years, the company's staff have been asking people to donate gifts for patients in the Amazon children’s ward at Peterborough City Hospital.

This Christmas, donations will continue to help bring happiness to those youngsters who can't be at home because they are too poorly.

Presents can be brought to Nest Estates office up to November 21.

Rhiannon Halliday-Pegg, an estate agent at the company, said: "It's the first year I've been involved.

"It was quite exciting when I came in because I didn't think it would be such a big thing. It's a really nice thing to do."

The team is collecting presents for babies up to 16 year olds.

Presents must be brand new and cannot be home-made because of the hospital’s infection controls.

Some toys may also be saved to be given to patients on their birthdays.

Nest Estates staff are encouraging people to bring gifts to their office in Red Lion Street in Stamford before Saturday, December 21.

The office is open from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.

Christmas market and light switch on.
