Help install award-winning garden

A gardener is appealing for volunteers to help him recreate an award-winning design.

Adam Frost, from Stamford, wants to install A Rural Muse at John Clare Cottage in Helpston.

The garden won a gold award at last year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show and was inspired by John Clare himself.

Mr Frost now wants to bring the design back to the former poet’s childhood home.

Chief executive of the John Clare Trust Sara Blair-Manning said: “We are delighted that Clare’s landscapes and life experiences have been translated into a beautifully planted and designed garden and we cannot wait for it to be recreated here for visitors to enjoy.

“We hope it will inspire more people to find out about Clare, his life and his surroundings and attract more visitors to the Peterborough area.”
