The organisation responsible for making sure local agencies work together for the benefit of children and young people in Rutland is looking for a volunteer to join its board.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Local Safeguarding Children Board plays a leading role in safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people, by making sure organisations such as the council and the police coordinate their work.

The board is now calling for a volunteer to offer their services for a period of two years to play a leading role in supporting stronger public engagement in child safety issues to improve the safeguarding of children in the county. The closing date for applications is Friday, January 10.
