Help tidy Oakham up ahead of East Midlands in Bloom judging

The East Midlands In Bloom Judges will visit Oakham on Friday to cast their eye over the town’s entry.

Judges will meet with volunteers, Oakham Scouts, Oakham Town Council and Rutland County Council representatives and local businesses.

A last minute tidy up to prepare for the East Midland’s in Bloom judges’ visit to Oakham will take place tomorrow (Thursday).

Oakham in Bloom volunteers will be meeting at Oakham Library gardens on Thursday from 6.30pm.

Anyone interested in helping the town prepare for the judges’ visit on Friday can come along and lend a hand.

The judges’ route will cover:

Oakham Castle, Market Street and Market Place

Church Passage and All Saints’ Church

Cutts Close and the Bandstand (the park)

Church Street, Northgate, Barlow Road and Deans Street

Melton Road and High Street

Gaol Street

Oakham Library including the Sensory Garden, Prairie Garden and the Peacock

Stamford Road

Uppingham Road

The bypass and its roundabout displays

Cricket Lawns

Brooke Road

Tyne Road, Trent Road and Welland Way

Balmoral Road and Braunston Road

Lonsdale Way and Princess Avenue

Cold Overton Road and Rutland Plastics

Barleythorpe Road

Lands’ End Way

Ashwell Road

Burley Road and allotments

The Whipper-In

Mill Street and The Maltings
