Help your GP deliver services

Have your say

Patients are being encouraged to get more involved with their GP surgery by signing up to its Patient Participation Group (PPG).

East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group is supporting the drive by PPGs to let patients know how they can help improve the delivery of health services, as well as make a difference to their local community.

PPGs are made up of volunteers interested in healthcare issues and can also include staff from the GP practice. They meet regularly to decide how they can make a positive contribution to the services and facilities the surgery offers to its patients.

PPG volunteers also get the opportunity to network with other groups in their area and take advantage of education sessions on topics of particular interest to them, such as community nursing, mental health, medicines management, integrated care and finance.

GP Dr Hamant Mistry said: “We see PPGs as vitally important in helping practices to offer the best possible service to their local community and we are working closely with surgeries to help support their PPGs.”
