Oakham burglaries prompt increase in police patrols

Police officers have increased their night-time patrols following a spate of break-ins.

Several homes in Brooke Road, Cricket Lawns and Vicarage Road in Oakham were broken into between Friday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 11.

Each burglary took place at night while the owners were away and back doors were broken to gain access.

Sergeant Paul Kear urged people to contact the police if they hear anything suspicious.

He said: "Don't just assume it's the neighbours making a noise. Give us a call."
