Home care provider to recruit 100 new staff in Peterborough and Stamford

A home care provider is set to create 100 jobs across Peterborough and Stamford.

Bluebird Care (Peterborough and Rutland), which is based in Wharf Road, Stamford, is now recruiting community care assistants to meet a growing demand for its services.

The company is expanding its operations across the region and hopes to take on the new staff over the next 12 months,

It is recruiting 50 staff to work in the Peterborough area and another 50 to work in the Stamford area.

The four-year-old firm’s expansion into the Peterborough area is on the back of a growth in private customers and NHS based contracts that have been won in the last three to six months.

In Stamford, the firm has enjoyed an increased demand for its services.

Owner and director, Tim Carey said: “We are so delighted to bring our award winning home care services to people throughout Peterborough, Market Deeping and Oundle.”

The community carers will work with customers providing specialist dementia care, end of life care, complex health and care needs and general care and support to enable people to remain independent in their own homes.

Leisa MacKenzie, owner and director said, “Since opening in 2011, we have achieved award after award, for the quality care we provide, and since lots of people want our services, we are expanding quickly and so we are able to create more jobs for people in the community who are passionate about care.”

Bluebird Care already employs about 50 people throughout Stamford and Rutland, contributing more than £500,000 per year to the local economy.

It provides a range of home care services, from companionship right through to dementia care, end of life care and complex care for customers who require support, to allow them to remain as independent as possible and within their own home. It also provides 24 hours live in care.

The company has just celebrated its fourth anniversary and, after a recent inspection, received praise from the government regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Mr Carey added: “We are delighted to have done so well in meeting all the standards the CQC have assessed us against, and over the moon to receive fabulous compliments from our carers and customers – it really was the best birthday present we could have asked for.”
