Homes and businesses in Wittering, Barnack, Ufford and Bainton were left without water, or with low pressure, this morning after a water main burst.

The main has now been fixed and residents should have water back.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “We’re sorry some customers in the Wittering area were without water this morning.

“This was because of burst water main. Our teams have located the burst and have re-routed supplies around the section of pipe affected. Water supplies have now been reinstated but it will take some time for the network to refill and get back up to normal pressure.

“We know how inconvenient it is to be without water, and we are sorry for the disruption this morning.”

“The water may appear cloudy or discoloured, but if customers run their tap for a short while this should clear. If households are still having problems, please contact us on 03457 145 145 or via facebook or twitter.”
