Housing professionals from across Rutland, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire met in Oakham on Monday, November 30, to discuss issues affecting housing in Rutland.

The Rutland Housing Conference was organised by Rutland County Council and welcomed more than 70 delegates from neighbouring local authorities, developers and housing associations, and other partner organisations.

The purpose of the conference was to address a range of important issues affecting housing provision for local people, such as sustainable communities, rental markets and how to deliver housing that people can afford.

Ian Jackson, executive director of portfolio investment for Longhurst Group, was a guest speaker at the conference.

Afterwards he said: “Through working together with local authorities like Rutland County Council we are providing solutions to how we can build more homes.”
