HSBC online banking website hit by cyber attack

HSBC customers are being warned that the company’s online banking website is currently down after a cyber attack.

The company said they are working hard to restore services.

A message on the website states: “We’d like to apologise to all our customers for Online Banking being unavailable.

“We know how inconvenient this is and we are doing everything we can to rectify the problem. Please try later.”

The attack comes at a particularly busy time with this weekend being payday for many people, and the self-assessment tax return deadline just two days away.
