Plans to build a community hub in Barrowden, which would include a shop, village hall and GP surgery, have suffered a setback as Rutland County Council defers its decision to grant planning permission

Proposals to build a £1m community hub have suffered a setback after councillors failed to decide whether to grant planning permission.

Barrowden Parish Council is leading a project to rebuild the village hall, community shop and GP surgery under one roof.

The village hall has structural problems and the shop is coming to the end of its temporary planning permission which was granted 14 years ago.
