Hundreds of people are expected at a Christmas market and lights switch-on next weekend - the first in a series of festive celebrations.
Market Deeping Town Council will host the celebrations, which take place on Sunday, November 25, between 10am and 4pm in the Market Place in Market Deeping.
A junior town crier competition will take place during the festivities, sponsored by The Boundary Fish and Chip Take Away and River Restaurant. First prize is a £100 voucher for a bicycle at Terry Wright’s Cycle Shop.
The Christmas market promises to be a great success with about 30 local traders offering a tempting array of festive food and gifts.
There will be also be fairground rides and entertainment with choir and dance groups showcasing their talents.
The festivities continue in Stamford when the lights are switched on in Red Lion Square on Friday, November 30.
The programme of events will start at 4.30pm with choir and dance performances.
The lights will be switched on at 6.30pm and be followed by a fireworks display.
A Christmas market will be held in Stamford town centre on Sunday, December 9, between 10am and 4pm.
There will be more than 200 stalls, as well as entertainment, a Santa’s grotto and competitions including a mince pie eating competition.
The seasonal fun will kick off in Bourne on Saturday, December 1, when a Christmas market and the lights switch-on will coincide.
There will be a funfair, stalls and the lights switch-on will take place in North Street.
And late-night Christmas shopping events will be held in Uppingham town centre on Thursday, December 6, and in Oakham on Monday, December 10.
Both events run between 5pm and 9pm.
