HUNDREDS of fans of gardener turned author Alan Titchmarsh queued to get copies of his latest book signed.
Alan was at Walkers Bookshop in High Street, Stamford, on Friday last week signing copies of his fictional novel The Haunting.
Managing director of Walkers Tim Walker said customers were queuing down the stairs to see Alan, who made his name on gardening programmes including Ground Force and Gardeners’ World.
Tim said: “I would say between 400 and 500 people came through the doors to see Alan.
“It was a really lovely morning with a good atmosphere. Everyone who came to see Alan left with a smile on their face.”
Tim thanked Alan for giving up his time.
He said: “It was nice to have someone who gave so freely of his time. He made time to speak to everyone and was so genuine.”
