Wittering Travel Counsellor enjoys challenge of planning different holidays around the world

More news, no ads

I am always busy planning different holidays all over the world; from escorted tours and beach holidays to multi centre adventures and cruises, writes Wittering-based Travel Counsellor Emma Savage.

Some of the trips I enjoy planning the most, though, are bespoke trips - personally tailored to the requirements and wish lists of my customers. I can arrange adventures anywhere in the world; I’ve arranged a trip along Route 66 riding a Harley Davidson for honeymooners, and road trips in Australia for an intrepid couple. I’ve planned surprise holidays to Italy, surprise engagements on Thailand beaches and much more.

One of the tailormade holidays I planned recently, to Spain, went down so well with the customers, I thought I would share it with you. The brief was this: They wanted to stay relatively close to home. They love good food and love to explore; they don’t like sitting by the beach and enjoy culture and history. So, where to suggest?

Well, I recommended a self-drive bespoke trip in Andalucia, an area of Spain they hadn’t thought to explore before and one which piqued their interest. I carefully listened to what they liked and didn’t like and arranged every detail to their specifications. It was a tall task, as they wanted to depart the following week, so I had to work quickly.

They started their holiday in Malaga, which has recently become one of the ‘go-to’ foodie destinations in Europe. They stayed in a luxury hotel for a few days, to start the holiday in style, and went on an Evening Tapas Tour to get out with a local and try some of the amazing food on offer.

Then, I arranged for them to pick up a car and drive to Jerez for a few days; their stay was at a spectacular mansion which had been converted into a luxury boutique hotel. From here, they could enjoy the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and sip sherry from the famous wine cellars nearby. Next stop was Seville, home of flamenco, tapas and a beautiful destination at any time of year.

Cordoba was up next, where they stayed at a historic hotel with amazing views set amongst fragrant orange trees.

Finally, I arranged for them to stay at the famous Alhambra Palace hotel in Granada. An exquisite end to the tour, with history and elegance combining with luxury and modern amenities to create a most memorable stay. I really enjoyed putting this trip together, and on their return my customers thanked me for a great holiday. It truly made my day!

I love a challenge, so where are you thinking of travelling to? Let me know if I can help you with your next adventure.
