Residents respond to Mallard Pass solar farm proposal on the Rutland and Stamford border

More news, no ads

Over the past few days, many people in the area have found themselves under the shadow of a proposal to construct a huge solar farm.

Concerns raised about the Mallard Pass solar farm range from the effect on local wildlife and the look of the countryside, through to where the panels will be constructed and the displacement of food production.

If it is given the go-ahead by government, an area could be covered in solar panels that is more than 1,000 football pitches in size and lies to the east of Stamford, near Essendine, Carlby, Braceborough, Greatford and Barholm.
