Our farmers and food producers have played a critical role in this pandemic, I am enormously grateful to them. It is only right that we seek to bolster the farming industry during and after the pandemic, and our departure from the European Union provides us with an opportunity to do so.
At the end of the Transition Period, the Withdrawal Act converts all EU standards into our domestic law, including; a ban on the use of artificial growth hormones in beef and restrictions that nothing apart from potable water may be used to clean chicken carcases (chlorinated chicken is banned).
