Police advise a simple way to prevent catalytic converter theft

Police are warning people to guard against the theft of catalytic converters after one was taken from Nairn Road, Stamford earlier this month.

Insp Gary Stewart of Stamford, Bourne and Deeping police said: "If you see someone 'doing work' under a vehicle and they're not from a breakdown assistance company then it is worth questioning what they are up to."

He added that if people see an unknown person under a neighbour's car they shouldn't ignore it.
