Indie the dinosaur comes to Ketton
A dinosaur fossil will be on display at the Ketton Cement Works Open Day on Saturday (June 30) amongst a host of other attractions and activities.
The Open Day is being held from 9am to 4pm to celebrate the company's 90th anniversary.
The Discoverers of the 2017 dinosaur find, “Indie the Iguanodon,” will be displaying some of the discovery.
There will also be a selection of local fossils for the public to handle, lots of prehistoric activities to take part in and even a few to take home.
A free identification service will also be on offer for anyone who has found fossils and would like to know a bit more about their finds.
Identifications will be done by Palaeontologist Jamie Jordan.
Members of the public are invited to meet the discoverers of Indie - Jamie Jordan and Sarah Moore - and have the chance to ask questions.
There will be lots of different things to see and do on the day including fair rides, bouncy castle, dog agility, face painting, refreshments, craft tent, vintage vehicles, steam trains, diesel trains, vintage quarry machinery and singers and performers from the local community.
The open day will also be supporting three charities, Kiwanis, Evergreen Care Trust and Anna’s Hope.
