Interested parties will be able to get insight into the history of the Stamford Mercury later this year.

The Stamford Mercury Archive Trust will be participating in the Lincolnshire Heritage Open days, which will be spread over two weeks in September.

The archive will be open on Thursday and Friday, September 6 and 7; and Thursday and Friday, September 13 and 14; from 10am to midday and from 2pm to 4pm.

There will be tours of the archive starting at 10am, 11am, 2pm and 3pm.

Each tour will take up to one hour and will consist of a presentation on the history of the archive and the opportunity to view some of the newspapers which contain significant events throughout its 300 year life.

Some of our volunteers and trustees will be on hand to answer questions.

There is no charge for the tours, but places are limited to seven people per tour.

Places can be booked by e-mailing: enquiries@smarchive.org.uk or calling 07459 567643.
