People will be able to immerse themselves into the jubilee celebrations with an interactive trail.

Businesses in Uppingham are taking part in The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Trail, which tells the story of Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne.

The AR (augmented reality) posters bring seven characters of Buckingham Palace to life through smartphones. Families will be able to take selfies with the characters, learning more as the story unfolds.

Uppingham Town Councillor Charlie Pallett is one of the volunteers organising the trail.

She said: “It’s lovely to offer something free of charge for families to enjoy during the jubilee.

“It has been there a couple of weeks and is bringing the town and local businesses into play.”

The posters are dotted around the town centre and in the Market Place, which the volunteers hope will provide a fun way for people to exercise during the Bank Holiday Weekend.
