Ketton in Rutland has a chance for sustainable shopping as Refill Revolution arrives in town
A revolutionary way of shopping is driving back to town.
A refill shop, organised by Refill Revolution, is providing people who live in Ketton to stock up produce in the back of a lorry after last week’s visit was a success.
‘Rita the Refill Roadster’ has a range of zero-waste products including dry foods, household cleaning liquids and bathroom items such as shampoo and shower gel.
The refill station will also stock sustainable alternatives to items such as toothbrushes, razors and kitchen sponges.
‘Rita’ will be parked at Ketton Sports and Community Centre on Thursday next week (January 20) from 10.30am until midday.
This was organised by Ketton Climate Action Group.
David Lewis, a member of the group, said: “It was good to see a steady stream of customers for Rita’s first visit and there were lots of positive comments about the range of products and prices.
“If there is sufficient demand, the intention is to make this a regular service.”
