Rutland Police and RSPCA investigate animal cruelty in North Luffenham

LEARN MOREPolice are working with the RSPCA to bring offenders to justice after a hedgehog was killed.
The alleged incident of animal cruelty happened on Saturday last week (July 16) at the bus stop in North Luffenham.
Police are investigating after the hedgehog was found dead and covered in white paint the following morning (July 17).
The suspects have now been identified and officers in Rutland are working jointly with the RSPCA to bring justice to those responsible.
A spokesperson for the RSPCA described it as a 'distressing incident' and urged anyone with first hand information to contact them on 0300 123 4999.
Following reports of other anti-social behaviour in the village police, along with Rutland County Council Community safety team and the chairman of North Luffenham Parish Council, identified anti-social behaviour hotspots which need further patrols.
