READERS who were born on the day the Queen acceded to the throne or on the day of her coronation are being asked to come forward and take part in Stamford Festival’s diamond jubilee bank holiday weekend celebrations.

Organisers have issued an appeal for them to make themselves known and act as judges for the baby show and the fancy dress competition at the Lions’ Family Fun Day on Sunday, June 3.

The dates in question are February 6, 1952, the day that King George VI died and his daughter was informed she was Queen of England, and June 2, 1953, the day of her coronation.
