Catmose College and Harington School join forces to perform Sister Act in Rutland

Recently Catmose College and Harington School performed the musical ‘Sister Act’ with more than 70 students involved, writes Elisabeth Newel.

This iconic musical has a notoriously difficult score and the band of gifted pupils and students, conducted by Luke Donnelly, rose to the challenge magnificently, hitting all the right notes!

The energetic and talented cast sang and danced their way through the uplifting musical, performing five shows to packed audiences.

Florence (as Deloris) ably led the very talented cast of Year 8 to 12 pupils and students.

Performances from Henreitta (Mother Superior) and Pheobie (Sister Mary Robert) were also particularly strong.

The singing, dancing and acting were of an exceptional standard and the partnership between Catmose College and Harington School was a triumph.

Laura Hollick, the director, praised all the students and pupils for their exceptional hard work and focus throughout both the performances and rehearsal period.

The pupils and students had been running the whole production, including lighting, sound and backstage, supported by the staff.

It was certainly a musical not to be missed, and was enjoyed by all those lucky enough to see it.
