FUN and games were the orders of the day in Easton-on-the-Hill as scores of families joined together for the village’s diamond jubilee celebrations today (Sunday).
The event was held at The Blue Bell pub, in High Street, and more than 250 residents turned out for a host of entertainment.
The event featured a hat competition, celebratory lunch, jubilee bell ringing, bouncy castle, tombola and barn dance in the evening.
The fun also included the village wheelbarrow race, which featured 13 teams racing between the three pubs in the village.
The race was won by The Cherry Pilots, who live in West Street, Easton-on-the-Hill.
Race organiser Simon Ford said: “Despite the weather, it’s been brilliantly supported. It was fun to see the competitors pushing around the wheelbarrows in testing conditions.”
Pub landlord Alex Rambaldi said: “We’ve had a fantastic turn out and it’s great to see so many people here.”
Money raised from the event is being put towards a number of village groups.
