Key dates in run-up to council elections in Rutland
Rutland County Council has confirmed key dates for the forthcoming local elections.
In addition to the UK Parliamentary General Election, May’s local elections could see all 26 of Rutland’s County Council seats contested, along with all Town and Parish Council seats. This means some residents could receive up to three sets of ballot papers when they vote.
Key dates in the run-up to the election include:
l March 23: Publication of notice of election
l April 9, 4pm: Deadline for delivery and withdrawal of nomination papers
l April 10: Publication of statement of persons nominated
l April 20: Deadline for receiving applications for registration
l April 21, 5pm: Deadline for receiving new postal vote and postal proxy applications, and for changes to existing votes
l April 28, 5pm: Deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy.
l April 28 (latest): Publication of notice of poll
l April 30: First date electors can apply for a replacement for lost postal votes
l May 7: Polling day 7am-10pm
l May 8: Local election count and results at Victoria Hall, Oakham.
