'Knitting Banksy' appeals for people not to pull decorations off Market Deeping bus shelter needlessly

The knitter dubbed 'Knitting Banksy' has made a heartfelt appeal: ‘Don’t vandalise the decorations’.

The kind-hearted soul has been decorating a bus shelter in Towngate East, Market Deeping, during lockdown.

Although they intend for the decorations to be taken home and enjoyed, the knitter has been upset to see them pulled down and left on the floor for seemingly no reason.

They said: “People are welcome to take anything that is displayed in the shelter (not the bus notices). It’s just so disappointing to find all the things pulled off and left on the ground.”

Knitting Banksy had previously contacted the Mercury’s letters pages to say while they are being taken to be enjoyed, they would continue to knit.

They also thanked the Mercury for the previous article, saying they had not seen how much it had been appreciated online because they don't have the internet.
