Plans for a new Deepings Leisure Centre advance as South Kesteven District Council votes to agree a lease for site

Plans for a new leisure centre advanced this week as the council which runs the current facilities agreed to pursue a lease for a site.

Members of South Kesteven District Council’s cabinet voted unanimously on Tuesday to agree a lease for a site in Linchfield Road, Deeping St James, with the Anthem Schools Trust, which runs The Deepings School.

Not only will this provide a site for a new leisure centre but it will also given the district council the opportunity to build a replacement football pitch because the current one was described by one member of the council as “decrepit”.
