PLANS for a town’s Christmas extravaganza will go ahead despite its light switch-on being held on a different date.

Bourne Town Council is unable to change its festive light switch-on at Bourne Corn Exchange, already planned for Friday, November 25, to coincide with the date of Bourne Community Action Retail group’s festive event on Saturday, December 3.

Gordon Cochran, who owns Gordon’s Photographic in North Street, Bourne, is leading the plans and said he is disappointed that they can’t be held together but said: “Even though they can’t move the lights switch-on due to arrangements already made, they are all behind us.”
