Lincolnshire County Council election results Deepings East: Independent wins seat previously held by Conservative




Independent councillor Phil Dilks has been elected to the Deepings East seat on Lincolnshire County Council.

Coun Dilks received 1,763 votes while his Conservative opposition Barry Dobson received 909 votes.

In his election speech, coun Dilks recognised his opposition, who had previously held the seat.

"Thank you for keeping my seat warm for four years - it's much appreciated," he joked.

"He's done good work."

This is the fourth term coun Dilks has been elected onto the county council and he is 'very much looking forward to getting back there'.

The turnout for the ward was 34.2 per cent.
