THE LINE-UP for the marquee stage at this year’s Riverside Festival has been announced.
The event on Stamford Meadows will take place on July 7 and two Stamford bands are on the bill for the marquee stage this year.
Among the acts which will perform is Kamikaze Hotshot from Spalding, In Archives from Peterborough, The Infernal Sea from Peterborough, A Story to Tell from Peterborough and Spalding, Burn City Burn from Corby, Don’t Look Down from Stamford, Smokescreen from Wisbech, Black Hawk Down from Stamford, The Black Marias from Peterborough, Chasing Dragons from Leeds and New Generation Superstars from Nottingham.
The headliner and schedule is still to be announced.
The marquee stage line-up has a distinct flavour which reflects the festivals ethos of providing a platform for bands who focus on their own original music rather than playing covers of other artists work.
Entry has been so overwhelming for the stage this year it took the committee longer than expected to finalise the line-up.
Stage manager for Riverside, Pete Collins said: “With so many high quality applicants this year we could have filled this stage several times over. Unfortunately this means there are going to be a lot of very disappointed bands out there as we just couldn’t fit them all in.
“We just hope that those who didn’t get through this year will try again next year.
“However, by working hard to get our changeover times even slicker we have managed to squeeze an extra band slot into this years line up without compromising on the performance times – so we will have 12 amazing sets this year.”
