A FISH and chip shop showed its support for a hospital children’s ward for the fourth year running.

Linford’s, in Market Deeping, held a charity raffle through December in support of the Amazon ward at Peterborough City Hospital.

Customers were able to buy a ticket with their food to win a luxury Christmas hamper worth £85.

The raffle raised £385.40, which was presented to ward play leader Amy Darling on Friday last week.

The shop started supporting the ward after manager Chris Shingles’ son spent time there while suffering from pneumonia as a one-year-old.

Mr Shingles said: “We saw the hard work they do there and wanted to help them. We have raised considerable amounts every year.

“The regulars know me quite well so they know the cause, and a lot of people have put their hands in their pockets this year.”
