Rutland Lions Club helps English Martyrs Academy in Oakham to refurbish library
A school received a donation to help refurbish the library.
English Martyrs Academy in Oakham was thrilled to receive a generous donation of £500 from the Lions Club of Rutland to help refurbish the school library.
The room is now a welcoming, bright space for the children to come and read or to pick out a book or two to take home.
Alison Chambers, headteacher, said: “Thank you to the Lions for their generous donation. We have been busy during the partial school closure painting a mural in the library of the children’s favourite book characters and the money donated has helped to buy new furniture to finish the room off. The children are delighted with the new look!”
Rutland Lions president Iain Reeves said: "Rutland Lions, as well as our many valued supporters, are always delighted to be able to make donations to such worthy causes; we genuinely want to make a difference, and it's why we do what we do."
