Businesses in Rutland, Stamford, Bourne and The Deepings area to shut due to heatwave

LEARN MOREAcross the area a number of eateries and tourist attractions have closed due to the extremely hot weather.
The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for extreme heat in England today and tomorrow (July 18 and 19), with the mercury set to rise as high as 40C.
Here is a list of business which have closed their doors for today and tomorrow:
- Rutland Sanctuary Zoo at Rutland Water
- Tiny Steps Petting Farm in Thurlby
- Rutland Farm Park in Oakham
- The Ivy Lodge, a hair and beauty salon in Great Casterton
- Stamford Cheese and Deli in Stamford High Street
- Central Tea Rooms in Stamford, including their ice cream window
- Lyndon Visitor Centre at Rutland Water including Waderscrape Hide. The car park, nature reserve and Shallow Hide, five minutes further down, remains open and offers good views of the ospreys
- The Bull in Rippingale
- The Stamford Fabric Company
Here is a list of business which are offering limited services today and tomorrow:
- The kitchen at the Black Horse in Baston is shut but the pub will remain open for drinks
- Lamberts in Stamford will be closing at 2.30pm
- Fika in Oakham and Stamford will close to customers at 12pm
- Central Cafe and Tea Rooms in Stamford
Schools are also taking new measures to help children to cope with the extreme heatwave.
