Big Machinery Weekend at Sacrewell Farm proves a hit

More than 2,000 people visited Sacrewell Farm for its hotly anticipated Big Machinery Weekend.

Farmers from the area lent their support by bringing a host of tractors and other vehicles to the event and staging a ploughing demonstration.

Visitors had the chance to check out and clamber on a range of machinery from vintage tractors to state-of-the-art combine harvesters last Saturday and Sunday (February 1-2).

The weekend also saw the official opening of the go-kart attraction and JCB digger zone in the play barn.

Jack Pishhorn, visitor operations manager, said: “We had over 2,000 people which was amazing for us in February. We had some really fantastic comments from people young and old.

“This was the second one of these events we’ve held and we’re looking to do another one later in the year.

“We are really thankful to the local community of farmers for coming out to help us.”
