A PLUS size model has added an award to her assets.

Lizzie Haines, 31, of Thorpe’s Terrace, Uppingham, won the Plus Size Model of the Year award at the 100 per cent people Plus Size Awards 2011.

It is the icing on the cake for Lizzie who was chosen as the Curvy Kate Face of 2011 earlier this year.

She now has a modelling contract with the plus-size lingerie firm and has just finished shooting the new winter catalogue.

She said: “It’s been great to be a part of a brand that is in the early stages of really taking off. Curvy Kate are one to watch.”

Lizzie won the award with 36 per cent of the votes, beating closest rival Josie Gibson by four per cent.

She said: “It’s quite the title and I’m very honoured. I wasn’t expecting the nomination let alone the win and it’s great for Curvy Kate to get noticed too. I have no idea where it will take me but 2011 has been a year of highs and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it all.

“I’m not quite sure how I’m going to top it.”

Lizzie owns her own business Do It Momma and makes personalised textiles.

She has many aspirations for 2012. “I hope to build my craft and wedding photography businesses up further and also to further my success with Curvy Kate as they’ve asked me to be a judge in next year’s competition,” she said.

“There is lots to look forward to.”
