Enjoy a great day out for all the family at Baston In The Blitz on Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4.
Now in its sixth year, this event will be bigger and better than ever with more than 60 vintage traders, 70 Second World War living history displays and 500 re-enactors. Both days will open with famous war-time speeches and there will be live firepower demonstrations and battle re-enactments.
The non-stop musical entertainment includes: George Formby tribute Paul Casper, Paula Marie, The Ronnies and The Battle Pipes.
There will be Punch and Judy shows, vintage military and civilian vehicles, plus Cold War-era military vehicles, weapons and equipment on display.
The village hall will house a scale model exhibition along with a display devoted to the RAF’s renowned 617 Squadron, the ‘Dambusters’ and an exhibition of Second World War wedding dresses.
Hairstylists will be offering 1940s-style makeovers. Hair appointments can be pre-booked at www.bastonblitz.org
The event will run from 10am to 5pm on both days. Access to the free parking area is via temporary traffic lights off the A15 between King Street and the Baston crossroads.
Entry costs £8 for adults (£5 senior citizens) and free for accompanied children under 16 years. A weekend pass is £12 (£8). Reduced-price tickets can be purchased in advance from www.bastonblitz.org
